2. Raise the rear of the machine and support it under the rear jacking points. Remove the road wheels (see Chapter 9, Section 3).
3. Place a jack under the suspension locking arm and lift it slightly.
4. Disconnect the lower shock absorber mount and separate the shock absorber eye from the support bracket. Remove the jack. Disconnect and plug the flexible brake hoses if there is a risk of straining them by moving the rear axle (see Chapter 9 for details).
5. Disconnect the shock absorber on the other side of the machine in the same way.
6. Lower the jack slightly, which still supports the locking lever, and then remove the coil spring from the opposite side of the machine first, and then the remaining one. Pull the insulating rings out of the spring seats.
7. Assembly is carried out in reverse order. If you find it difficult to hold the insulators in place while installing the spring, use impact adhesive. Reconnect the brake hoses and when finished, bleed the brake hydraulic system where necessary (Chapter 9).
8. For models equipped with a level control system, increase the system pressure (Section 20).
