2. Unscrew and remove the four bolts that secure the short axle support flange to the axle flange. Remove the short axle.
3. New bolts must be used at the assembly stage; they should already be coated with a thread blocking compound. Make sure these new bolts are no more than three years old, as the mixture should have lost its locking properties by now. A single number on the head of the bolt indicates the year it was manufactured. It is important that the short axle threads are completely free of any old compound residue blocking the threads. Ideally, clean the threads well using a thread tapping tool.
4. Tighten the bolts to the stages indicated in the Specifications.
5. Install the hub.
