Rear anti-roll bar — removal and installation (Opel Ascona C)

1. On some models, an anti-roll bar is installed on the rear suspension system. Although the anti-roll bar support points differ on pre- and post-1985 models due to rear axle profile improvements, the procedures for anti-roll bar removal, maintenance and installation remain the same.

2. Raise and support the rear of the vehicle.

3. Disconnect the anti-roll bar supports from the suspension end arm and from the clamps on the rear axle. Remove the rod.

4. Replace the anti-roll rod and/or its mounting bushings if they are worn, broken or damaged.

5. Assemble in reverse order. Tighten the retaining bolts to the specified torque value.
