Remove the special device KM-853.

Using the pulley mounting bolt, turn the engine crankshaft in the direction of working rotation by two full turns (720°), then align the mark on the crankshaft pulley with the mark on the front cover of the cylinder block, while the piston of the 1st cylinder will be set to TDC.

Make sure the marks on the camshaft pulleys are aligned with the marks on the cylinder head.

Using special tool KM-353 (2), secure the camshaft pulleys.

Adjusting the tension of the new timing belt

Slightly loosen the timing belt tensioner roller mounting bolt. Turn the eccentric clockwise until:

I - alignment of the pointer (1) of the toothed belt tension roller with the center of the recess (2);

I - alignment of the pointer (1) of the toothed belt tension roller with the center of the recess…

II - alignment of the pointer (1) of the toothed belt tension roller with the NEW mark (2).

Tighten the timing belt tensioner roller mounting bolt to a torque of 25 Nm.

Remove the special device KM-853.

Using the pulley mounting bolt, turn the engine crankshaft again in the direction of working rotation by two full turns (720°), align the mark on the crankshaft pulley with the mark on the front cover of the cylinder block, while the piston of the 1st cylinder will be set to TDC and check the position of the toothed belt tension roller. If the timing belt tension roller pointer is not aligned with the notch or mark, repeat the tension adjustment.

Adjusting the tension of the timing belt that was running on the engine

Slightly loosen the timing belt tensioner roller mounting bolt. Turn the eccentric clockwise until:

I - setting the pointer (1) of the toothed belt tension roller at a distance of 4 mm to the left of the recess (2);

II - alignment of the pointer (1) of the toothed belt tension roller with the USED mark (2).

II - alignment of the pointer (1) of the toothed belt tension roller with the USED mark (2).

Install the front cover of the timing belt drive of the gas distribution mechanism.

Install the vibration damper and secure it with bolts, tightening them to a torque of 20 Nm, while using a second wrench on the bolt to hold the crankshaft pulley from turning.
