Remove the front cover of the timing belt drive of the gas distribution mechanism.
Disconnect the connector from the engine air temperature sensor located on the air intake tube (1).

Disconnect the resonator hose from the air intake tube (1).
Remove the air intake tube (1) and the air filter housing cover (2) as an assembly.
Remove the ignition coil block cover (3) from the cylinder head cover.

Disconnect the high-voltage wires from the spark plugs and use the special tool KM-194-E to unscrew the spark plugs.
Remove the oil filler cap, the cap from the engine cooling system expansion tank and take out the engine oil level indicator.
Install the adapter into the spark plug hole of the 1st cylinder.
Connect the pressure drop tester to the compressed air source and calibrate it.
Connect the pressure drop tester to the adapter connecting hose.

Using the pulley mounting bolt, turn the engine crankshaft in the direction of working rotation and set it to the TDC position of the piston of the first cylinder in the compression stroke, while making sure that the timing marks on the camshaft pulleys and the crankshaft pulley are aligned with the pointers.

Warning: Do not turn the crankshaft when checking the pressure reduction in each cylinder. To avoid this, engage 1st gear and apply the parking brake.

Apply compressed air to cylinder 1. Read the percentage of air pressure reduction in the engine cylinder on the tester scale, listening for any possible compressed air leaks from the intake manifold, exhaust manifold, crankcase and spark plug holes, and make sure there are no air bubbles in the expansion tank of the cooling system.

The maximum permissible pressure difference between engine cylinders must not exceed 10%.
The reduction in maximum pressure of one cylinder should not exceed 25%.
Similarly, check the tightness in cylinders 3, 4 and 2. Set the piston of the cylinder being checked to TDC in the compression stroke.
The cylinder firing sequence is 1-3-4-2. To determine the TDC position in the compression stroke, align the marks (1), (2), (3) and (4) on the pulley of one camshaft with the indicator. Using the pulley mounting bolt, slowly turn the crankshaft by 180° in the direction of working rotation, which corresponds to turning the camshaft by 90°, until the mark on the pulley aligns with the pointer on the cylinder head.

Screw in the spark plugs and tighten them to 25 Nm
Connect the high-tension wires to the spark plugs.
Install the ignition coil cover (3) onto the cylinder head cover and secure with bolts, tightening them to a torque of 3 Nm.

Install the air intake tube (1) and the air filter housing cover (2). Tighten the air intake pipe mounting nut to the bracket to 16 Nm.

Connect the resonator hose to the air intake tube.
Connect the connector to the engine air temperature sensor located on the air intake tube.
Install the front cover of the timing belt drive of the gas distribution mechanism.
Install the oil filler cap, the engine coolant expansion tank cap and the engine oil level indicator.
