Mark the direction of rotation of the timing belt and remove the timing belt from the engine pulleys.

After removing the timing belt, do not turn the engine crankshaft, as this may cause the pistons to collide with the valves, causing serious damage to the engine.

Using special tool KM 853 (4), secure the camshaft pulleys. Make sure that the mark (3) on the crankshaft pulley is aligned with the mark on the front cylinder block cover.

Install the timing belt onto the engine pulleys with the tension side (I) tight.

Install the vibration damper (1) and secure with bolts, tightening them to a torque of 20 Nm, while using a second wrench on the bolt to hold the crankshaft pulley from turning.
