Checking and adjusting the V-belt tension
- Make sure that the V-belt tensioner lever (3) is between stops (2) and (4). If the lever (2) of the automatic V-belt tensioner roller reaches stop 1, the V-belt assembly with the tensioner roller must be replaced.

- The tension of the V-belt is adjusted by the roller (1) of the automatic tensioning mechanism. Only the position of the lever (3) on the V-belt tensioning mechanism roller is checked: it should be between stops 2 and 4.
Removal
- Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.
- Mark the direction of rotation of the accessory drive V-belt.
- Using a spanner (KM-913-A), turn the belt tensioner roller clockwise by the mounting bolt, thereby loosening the belt tension, and remove the auxiliary drive V-belt.

Installation
- Check the condition of the V-belt for wear and mechanical damage. If necessary, replace the belt with a new one.
- Install the V-belt onto the engine pulleys in accordance with the previously applied marks. Using a spanner (KM-913-A), turn the belt tensioner roller clockwise by the mounting bolt, install the belt on the belt tensioner roller, then release and remove the spanner.
- The location of the V-belt on the engine pulleys is shown in the figure.
I. Location of the V-belt on the engine pulleys of a vehicle without an air conditioning system. II. Location of the V-belt on the engine pulleys of a car with an air conditioning system.
- Connect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.
