Removal
Disconnect the connector from the engine air temperature sensor located on the air intake tube (1).

Disconnect the resonator hose from the air intake tube (1).
Remove the air intake tube (1) and the air filter housing cover (2) as an assembly.
Loosen the nut, remove the cover (3) of the wiring harness from the front timing belt cover and move the cover and wiring harness to the right side of the engine.
Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hoses (1) and (2) and remove the ignition coil cover (3) from the cylinder head cover.

Disconnect the connector from the camshaft position sensor.
Using the special tool KM 836, disconnect the high-voltage wires from the spark plugs and release the high-voltage wires from the holders.

Remove the bolts and remove the cover from the cylinder head, marking the location of the seals (4).
Clean the mating surface of the cylinder head cover from any remaining gasket (5).
Installation
Apply sealant to the sealing surfaces indicated by the arrows in the figure.

Install the cylinder head cover with new sealing rings (4) and a new gasket (5) and secure with bolts, tightening them to a torque of 8 Nm.
Connect the high-tension wires to the spark plugs.
Connect the connector to the camshaft position sensor and the crankcase ventilation hoses (1) and (2) to the cylinder head cover.

Install the ignition coil cover (3) onto the cylinder head cover and secure with bolts, tightening them to a torque of 3 Nm.
Install the wiring harness cover (3) onto the front timing belt cover.

Install the air intake tube (1) and the air filter housing cover (2). Tighten the air intake pipe mounting nut to the bracket to 16 Nm.
Connect the resonator hose to the air intake tube.
Connect the connector to the engine air temperature sensor located in the air intake pipe.
