Cylinder Head Cover — Removal and Installation (Opel Astra G)

Removal

1. Remove the air intake cover from the throttle body (Chapter 4A).

2. Loosen the clamps and disconnect the crankcase exhaust hoses on the cylinder head cover (see photo).





3. Loosen the cylinder head cover mounting bolts, remove the brackets and clamps, paying attention to their location. Remove the cover (see photo). If the lid sticks, move it by lightly tapping on the sides.

Installation

4. Thoroughly clean the inner surface of the cover from resinous deposits; if necessary, remove and replace the crankcase ventilation filter.

5. Place the gasket in the groove on the cover, making sure it is positioned correctly along its entire length (if the condition of the gasket is satisfactory, then it does not need to be changed).



Install the bolts by installing the brackets and clamps and tighten the bolts in a diagonal sequence (see photo). Install the remaining removed parts.
