Engine description
On some of the cars in question, 4-cylinder engines are installed with the arrangement of cylinders in a row. Engines transverse layout, overhead valve with a single camshaft. The transmission is installed on the left side of the engine. The cylinder block is cast from aluminum alloy, the cylinders are lined, the cylinder liners are dry (those. do not come into contact with coolant). Crankshaft 5-support. The axial play of the crankshaft is regulated by the selection of thrust half rings mounted on the middle main bearing. Connecting rod bearings consist of two shells inserted into the connecting rod and into the connecting rod cap. The connecting rods are connected to the pistons by means of fingers that move freely in the connecting rod head and are installed with an interference fit in the pistons.
The camshaft rotates in the housing in which the beds are made. Valve adjustment is automatic, provided by hydraulic pushers. The oil pump is mounted at the front of the engine and is driven by the crankshaft. The coolant pump is driven by the camshaft timing belt.
