Removal



Remove the lower engine compartment protection.

Disconnect the connector from the engine air temperature sensor located on the air intake tube (1).

Disconnect the resonator hose from the air intake tube (1).

Disconnect the resonator hose from the air intake tube (1).


Remove the air intake tube (1) and the air filter housing cover (2) as an assembly.

Disconnect the air intake tube bracket and ground wire from the cylinder head.

Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield.

Disconnect the front exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold.

Disconnect the front exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold.


Remove the exhaust manifold from the cylinder head.

Remove the exhaust manifold gasket from the cylinder head.

Installation



Clean the mating surfaces of the cylinder head and exhaust manifold.



Install the exhaust manifold with a new gasket and secure with new nuts, tightening them as follows:

Install the exhaust manifold with a new gasket and secure with new nuts, tightening them as follows:

  • 1st pass: in the sequence JGHBDCJGBD with a torque of 14 Nm.
  • 2nd pass: in sequence ABCDEFGHJK with a torque of 20 Nm.
  • 3rd pass: in sequence ABCDEFGHJK with a torque of 20 Nm.

Connect the front exhaust pipe with a new gasket to the exhaust manifold and secure with nuts, tightening them to a torque of 28 N·m.

Install the exhaust manifold heat shield.

Install the air intake pipe bracket and ground wire to the cylinder head and secure with the bolt, tightening it to a torque of 22 N·m.

Install the air intake tube (1) and air filter housing cover (2) as an assembly (see the relevant chapter). Tighten the air intake pipe bracket mounting nut to 16 N·m.

Connect the resonator hose to the air intake tube (1).



Connect the connector to the engine air temperature sensor located on the air intake tube.

Install the lower engine compartment protection.
