Replacing the exhaust manifold seal (Z10XE, Z10XEP, without air conditioning) (Opel Corsa C)

Note: On vehicles from year 04 with ESP - after each battery disconnection the steering wheel angle sensor loses its basic setting. It must be recalibrated.


Removal



Open the hood.

Disconnect the battery terminals.

Disconnect the ground wire.

Raise the car.

Remove the front exhaust pipe 1.

Note: On the "ECO" model variant, remove the engine compartment cover at the bottom.


Unscrew 3 nuts.

Unscrew 3 nuts.


Lower the car.

Remove the suction pipe 1.

Remove bolt 2.

Remove bolt 2.


Release the oil dipstick guide tube.

Remove the oil dipstick.

Remove the bolt.

Remove the heated lambda fuel ratio sensor.

Disconnect the wiring harness connector.

Release the wiring harness.

Carefully unscrew using the KM-61291 tool.



Remove the engine transport earring on the left 2.

Remove the bolt.

Remove the exhaust manifold shield.

Unscrew the 2 mounting bolts.

Unscrew the 2 mounting bolts.


Remove the exhaust manifold.

Unscrew the 7 mounting nuts.

Remove the seal.

Clean the sealing surfaces of the cylinder head and exhaust manifold.

Remove the oil dipstick guide tube.

Remove the oil dipstick guide tube.


Installation



Insert the dipstick guide tube.

Replace 2 O-rings 1.

Replace 2 O-rings 1.


Install the exhaust manifold.



Replace the seal.

Replace the nuts.

Tighten the 3 nuts to a torque of 20 Nm.

Install the exhaust manifold shield.

Tighten the 2 mounting bolts to 8 Nm.

Install the engine transport eyelet on the left.

Tighten the bolt to a torque of 20 Nm.

Install a heated lambda sensor to control the fuel mixture composition.

Apply mounting paste (white) to the threads.

Tighten the lambda sensor to 40 Nm.

Connect the wire harness connector.

Secure the wiring harness.

Secure the oil dipstick guide tube.

Tighten the bolt to 8 Nm.

Raise the car.

Install the exhaust pipe at the front.

Note: On the "ECO" model, install the engine compartment cover at the bottom.

Replace the seal and nuts.

Tighten the 3 nuts to 25 Nm.

Lower the car.

Install the suction pipe.

Insert into the front from above.

Tighten the bolt.

Insert the oil dipstick.

Connect the battery terminals.

Program volatile memory.

Close the hood.
