Removing
Remove the air duct cover from the underbody B.
Release the fuel filter in the holder.
Remove bolt 1.
Note. The figures show the model version «Combo» (F06, F25).
Install the special tool head 1 on the fuel filter 2.
Threaded fitting 3 points down.
Press the entire surface of the rubber seal (arrow) to the fuel filter housing.
Adjust the strap accordingly.
Tighten it with a clamp.
Install the fuel collection vessel 3 on the head of the special tool 1.
Attention! The fuel filter is under pressure. Check the special tool for tight fit.
Attach the fuel collection vessel to the threaded fitting and tighten.
Note. The built-in drill drills through the fuel filter housing. The escaping fuel flows into a receiving vessel.
Blow out the fuel filter.
Attention! Follow the given sequence.
Using the pliers 5 supplied with the special tool, make a hole as wide as possible at the top (arrow).
Remove from fuel filter and plug 2 fuel lines (2, 4).
Attention! Remove the fuel lines only when fuel is no longer expelled from the fuel filter.
Remove with tool KM-796-A from the quick coupling.
Seal the fuel line with KM-807.
When the fuel filter is empty, remove the special tool.
Remove the receiving vessel.
Remove the head of the special tool - loosen the tension collar.
Remove the fuel filter.
Installation
Insert 2 new connecting clips 1 into the bushing of the quick-release fastener of the fuel line 2.
Insert a new fuel filter.
Insert from the front into the holder.
Note. Follow the direction of travel.
Connect 2 fuel lines (4, 5) to the fuel filter.
Remove the special tool KM-807.
Connect the 2 fuel lines with a quick fitting to the fuel filter.
Do a tensile test.
Note. Make sure the quick-release closures are properly engaged.
Attach the fuel filter to the holder.
Install bolt 3 and tighten it to 4 Nm.
Install the air duct shield on the underbody.
For model version «ECO»
With the engine running, check the 2 fuel line quick seals in the fuel filter for leaks.
