Heater — description (Opel Ascona C)

            0

1. The heater system uses fresh air that enters through a grille at the base of the windshield and passes through a core that is heated by the engine cooling system.

2. The temperature of the heater is regulated by mixing cold and warm air using flaps, which are used both for this purpose and for directing air flows into the passenger compartment, onto the windshield or onto the side windows.

3. In the engine compartment there is an electric fan, the purpose of which is to increase the air flow that occurs when the car is moving.

4. An independent ventilation system provides fresh, unheated air to the nozzles on the dashboard.

5. Old air exits the cabin through the grilles immediately behind the rear side windows (saloon models) or through the air vents in the rear pillar (on other models) (see photo).
