Coolant Temperature Sensor — Removal and Installation (Opel Ascona C)

1. On 1.3 engines, the coolant temperature sensor is screwed into the intake manifold (see photo). On other engines it is located on the thermostat housing.



2. Before removing the sensor, drain some of the coolant (see section 3) and disconnect the negative battery cable.

3. Disconnect the wiring from the sensor terminal, unscrew and remove it.

4. The sensor is installed in the reverse order. Apply sealant to the sensor threads before installation. Fill the system with coolant (see section 6) and run the engine to check the operation of the sensor and make sure there are no leaks.
