Press the brake pedal at least 5 times with the engine off, and then start the engine with the pedal depressed. The pedal should move down noticeably.
If this is not the case, disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum booster and start the engine. Use your finger to check for vacuum at the end of the hose.
If vacuum is not felt, check hose for leaks and damage, replace if necessary. Tighten all clamps.
On vehicles with diesel engines: Disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum pump and check for vacuum as described above.
If vacuum is felt, measure its magnitude. Replace vacuum booster if necessary (performed in the workshop).
Attention! Simultaneously with the replacement of the vacuum booster, it is necessary to replace the check valve in the pipeline, since the booster membrane could be damaged by the trapped fuel vapors.
