Removal
Raise the car.
For vehicles with a catalytic converter: remove the screens from the front of the muffler and catalytic converter.

On front-wheel drive vehicles: release the parking brake cable equalizer.
In all-wheel drive vehicles: measure the length of the threaded part of the rod and unscrew the cable equalizer.
Disconnect the parking brake cable from the rod.
Remove the rubber tip from the bottom and rod.
Remove the driver's seat by unscrewing the protective covers from the runners. Carefully lift the handle cover on the console with a screwdriver.
Remove the leather cover of the parking brake lever.

Remove the console (see the chapter " Bodywork
" ).
Cut the carpet on the driver's side as shown in the picture (see below).

Remove the parking brake lever mount and remove the lever together with the rod.
Remove the parking brake switch. Disconnect the connector.
Installation
Insert the parking brake indicator switch and tighten to 2.5 Nm.
Connect the connector to the switch.
Install the parking brake lever into the gearbox tunnel and tighten to a torque of 20 Nm.

Install the console. Secure the leather cover of the parking brake lever.
Put on the lever handle cover. Install the driver's seat and secure with a torque of 20 Nm.
Install and secure the seat rail trim.
Place the rubber tip on the rod.
In front-wheel drive vehicles: connect the parking brake cable to the rod.
In all-wheel drive vehicles: move the cable equalizer along the rod and screw on the hexagonal self-locking nut, maintaining the size recorded during disassembly.
Caution: Use a new self-locking nut.
In vehicles with a catalytic converter: install and secure the screen.
Lower the car.
