Removing
Raise the car.
On vehicles with a catalytic converter: remove the muffler and catalytic converter front shields.
On front-wheel drive vehicles: release the parking brake cable equalizer.
In four-wheel drive vehicles: measure the length of the threaded part of the rod and unscrew the cable equalizer.
Disconnect the parking brake cable from the linkage.
Remove the rubber tip from the bottom and rod.
Remove the driver's seat by unscrewing the protective covers from the slide. Carefully pry up the handle cover on the console with a screwdriver.
Remove the parking brake lever leather boot.
Remove console (see chapter "Body").
Cut the driver's side carpet as shown (see below).
Remove the fastening of the parking brake lever and remove the lever together with the rod.
Remove the parking brake switch. Disconnect connector.
Installation
Insert parking brake warning light switch and tighten to 2.5 Nm.
Connect the connector to the switch.
Install the parking brake lever in the transmission tunnel and tighten to 20 Nm.
Install console. Attach the parking brake lever leather boot.
Put on the lever handle cover. Install the driver's seat and secure with a torque of 20 Nm.
Install and secure seat slide trim.
Put the rubber tip on the rod.
In front-wheel drive vehicles: connect the parking brake cable to the linkage.
On four-wheel drive vehicles: move the cable equalizer along the linkage and screw on the hex self-locking nut, maintaining the dimension recorded during disassembly.
Attention! Use a new self-locking nut.
On vehicles with a catalytic converter: install and secure the screen.
Lower the car.
