Removing
1. Remove the rear of the center console.
2. Release the parking brake lever.
3. Push back washer 1 on the adjuster and hold it in this position (see arrow in illustration).
4. Press the stopper 2 down, as shown by the arrow in the illustration, and fix it, holding the washer on the regulator in the same position.
5. Remove the exhaust system (see relevant chapter).
6. Remove the heat shield fixed to the bottom of the body 1 (see illustration).
7. Remove the retaining ring 1, unscrew the bolt 2 and disconnect the cable equalizer 3 from the bottom of the car (see illustration).
Attention! Mark or note the location of the parking brake bolts and cables. The brown cable is located on the right side of the vehicle.
8. Release and disconnect plug 1 of the parking brake sensor-switch (see illustration).
9. Unscrew the four nuts on the bottom of the car (see arrows in illustration) and remove the lever 2 of the parking brake together with the seal 3.
10. Disconnect cables from levers of a drive of brake pads.
11. Unscrew the bolt of fastening of the holder 1 of the cable rod (see illustration).
12. Release the right and left cables 3 from the mounts on the bottom (see arrows in illustration 8.11) and disconnect from equalizer 2.
Installation
13. Fasten the right and left cables in the holders on the bottom and on the levers of the brake shoe drive.
14. Install the parking brake lever in its mounting location, making sure that its seal is properly seated.
15. Tighten the four nuts securing the lever with a force of 10 Nm and connect the plug of the parking brake sensor-switch.
16. Secure the end of the cable to the equalizer by installing a new circlip.
Further installation is carried out in sequence. reverse withdrawal.
17. Tighten the parking brake lever. The stopper will then be released and the parking brake will automatically self-adjust. Parking brake adjustment is not required.
