Removal and installation the parking brake lever (Opel Astra H)

Note: The procedure below describes how to remove the lever on Astra models. There are slight differences for Zafira models (see Section 14).

1. Remove the diagnostic connector cover and the boot of the lever on the center console.

2. Completely unscrew the adjusting nut.

3. Remove the center console (see Chapter 11).

4. Disconnect the wiring connector of the parking brake warning light switch sensor.

5. Disconnect the electrical wiring (see accompanying illustration) from the supplemental restraint system (SRS) control module, release the 2 wiring harnesses from the control arm mounting bracket.



6. Disconnect the parking brake actuator adjusting nut and 3 mounting nuts (see illustration 13.5) and remove the lever with the bracket. If necessary, unscrew the mounting bolt and remove the sensor switch from the lever bracket.

7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Finally, adjust the parking brake drive (see Section 12).
