1. The sensor-switch is attached to the brake pedal bracket and, when pressed, allows you to activate the brake lights. warning other road users about the beginning of braking. The brake lights must be activated with a pedal stroke of 15±5 mm. In addition, the sensor-switch sends a corresponding signal to the ABS/EDS control module to activate the brake control process. For this reason, the precise functioning and adjustment of the sensor is extremely important.
2. Disconnect the wire from the negative battery terminal (see chapter 5).
3. Move the front seat back as far as it will go.
4. To provide access to the brake pedal, remove the lower decorative cover of the instrument panel and the side decorative cover of the center console from the side of the driver's footwell, as well as the air supply hose to the driver's footwell (see chapter 11).
5. Ask an assistant to squeeze the brake pedal and hold it in this position - the contact rod of the sensor should move out. Pull the lock sleeve of the sensor to the stop in the direction indicated by the arrow (see resist. illustration).
6. Press the latches (see resist. illustration) and remove the sensor-switch from the pedal bracket. Disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor.
7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
