The brake light switch is mounted under the instrument panel on the brake pedal bracket. When the switch rod is recessed (the brake pedal is released) its contacts are open, and when the rod is extended (the brake pedal is pressed) — closed.

Replacement



1. Prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").

2. On the Astra model, turn the two clamps counterclockwise by 90°...

7. Install the brake light switch in the reverse order.

Adjustment



After installing the brake light switch, it must be adjusted so that the brake lights come on when the brake pedal free travel is selected, that is, before the actual braking begins.
