Electric Mirror Control Unit — Checking and Replacing (Opel Zafira A)

Checking and replacing the control unit may be necessary if there are faults in the electric drive. The full algorithm for identifying faulty elements for various faults is given in Chapter 15 "Body" (see "Side Rear View Mirror - Checking and Replacing").

To perform the work you will need a multimeter.

Examination

1. Prepare the vehicle for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").

2. Using a thin slotted screwdriver, pry up and remove the electric mirror control unit from the door trim.

3. Press the lock, disconnect the wiring harness connector and remove the unit.

Examination

Checking the mirror electric drive control unit involves checking the correctness of the contact closure with a multimeter in the circuit continuity mode at different positions of the key and switch. If the unit is faulty, replace it.
