1. Prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").

2. Remove the ignition switch cylinder (see above).

We check the contact group for contact closure in the switch positions corresponding to different positions of the key in the ignition switch (see table 14.12).

Note. If the ignition key is in positions I, II and III, contacts 30 and W are also closed.

If any contacts do not close, the contact group is faulty and must be replaced.

Note: The new contact group is supplied without a locking solenoid, therefore when replacing the contact group on vehicles with automatic transmission, it is necessary to move the solenoid from the old contact group to the new one (see below, "Ignition Key Interlock Solenoid - Checking and Replacing").
