Description of the design of the ignition switch (lock) (Opel Zafira A)

            0

In the power supply circuit of most of the electrical equipment of the car, except for the emergency and sound alarm, parking lights and anti-theft system, interior and trunk lighting, brake lights and electric door locks, voltage is supplied through the ignition switch.

The ignition switch is additionally equipped with a steering shaft locking mechanism. After removing the key from the lock, a spring-loaded latch is released. When attempting to turn the steering wheel, the latch prevents the steering shaft from turning.
