If the lock is faulty, we check and, if necessary, replace the solenoid.
Examination
1. We prepare the car for work (see «Preparing the car for maintenance and repair»).
2. Remove the contact group (see «Contact group of the ignition switch - check and replacement»).
3. With a multimeter in ohmmeter mode, we measure the resistance of the solenoid winding.
The resistance should be about 13 ohms.
Another, more accurate way is to apply 12 V to its outputs. At the same time, its performance can be judged by characteristic clicks.
If the solenoid is defective, it must be replaced (see below). If the solenoid is OK, but the lock still does not work, it is necessary to check the selector position sensor in P mode (see «Automatic transmission mode selector - removal, repair and installation»).
Replacement
1. With a screwdriver, squeeze the latches...
...and remove the blocking relay.
2. Install the parts in reverse order.
