Removal and installation the ignition lock cylinder and its contact element (Opel Corsa B)

Ignition lock cylinder



1. The steering wheel lock must not be locked.

2. Remove the steering column covers.

3. Insert the ignition key and turn it to position II.

On models from 05/1993, set the key to position I. The old and new ignition switches are interchangeable.


4. Press the locking spring with a small screwdriver or wire. Remove the lock cylinder with the ignition key.

5. To install, insert the lock cylinder in position II (on models from 05.1993 - to position I), having fixed it.

If a new design lock cylinder is installed on a vehicle manufactured before 05.1993, use a screwdriver to turn the contact element before setting the cylinder to position I.


Contact element (models up to 08.1994.)



1. Remove the steering column covers.

2. Disconnect the contact element connector and unscrew the two screws located opposite each other.

3. Remove the contact element.

4. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
