Astra Models
1. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery (see Chapter 5).
2. Separate the center console storage box at 8 points and remove it (see accompanying illustration).
3. Move both front seats forward as far as possible and remove the 2 mounting screws (see illustration 38.2) center console.
4. Loosen the central nut securing the console to the floor at the rear.
5. Remove the front ashtray tray (see Chapter "Controls and operating techniques", Section 17).
6. Remove the center console diagnostic connector cover.

7. Remove the selector lever (AT)/gear shift (MT) base cover (see Section 39).
8. Use a plastic wedge to pry off the boot from the parking brake lever. Move both front seats as far back as possible.
9. Remove the 2 mounting screws on the sides of the console at the front (see accompanying illustration) and 1 screw under the parking brake lever.
10. Remove the 2 mounting screws at the bottom of the instrument panel console section above the front ashtray recess, carefully pull the center console out and remove it.
11. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Make sure that the front part of the console fits into the guides during installation.

12. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery (see Chapter 5).
13. Apply the parking brake lever.
14 Carefully use a plastic wedge to push back the 2 fasteners (see accompanying illustration) and separate the front center console trim from the guide.
15. Similarly, remove the rear trim from the end of the center console. Disconnect the 3 electrical wiring connectors from the back of the trim.
16. Remove the 2 mounting screws at the rear and front of the center console and disconnect the 2 electrical wiring connectors (see accompanying illustration). Remove the center console from the bottom of the vehicle.
17. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
