Short console
1. Release the shift lever boot from the base of the console, and lift it up, removing it from the shift lever.
2. Carefully remove the front edge of the trim around the shift lever using a screwdriver, then release the two retaining tabs at the rear. Remove the trim via the gear shift lever.
3. Remove the storage compartment, then release the console cover from its top.
4. Remove the screws, now easily visible, securing the upper console to the base of the center console and remove the upper console.
5. Remove the small plastic caps (if they are installed) and remove the screws securing the center console base to the floor.
6. Disconnect the front part of the center console base from the fixing lug on the floor, and remove the entire structure from the vehicle.
7. Reinstallation is carried out by performing the above steps in reverse order.
Long console
8. Release the gearshift lever boot from the base of the console and remove it from the lever, lifting it up.
9. Carefully remove the front edge of the trim around the shift lever using a screwdriver, then release the two retaining tabs at the rear. Remove the trim via the gear shift lever.
10. Remove the two bottom screws of the console cover, then lift the cover and remove the retaining tabs at the top (see photo). Remove the cover.
11. Unscrew the two lower screws securing the upper console, disconnect the upper console from the base and remove the upper console (see photo 39.11).

12. Carefully remove the small plastic cover and remove the screw securing the console base in front of the handbrake lever (see photo 39.12). Remove the second mounting screw located behind the handbrake lever.

13. Set the handbrake lever as high as possible, and lift the console base toward the rear to release it from the locking tab at the front. Move the console relative to the handbrake lever and gear shift lever, and remove the console from the vehicle. Note that if there is too little space to fit the console into place, it may be necessary to temporarily disturb the handbrake adjustment to allow the lever to be raised high enough.
14. Reinstallation is carried out by performing the above steps in reverse order.
