Removal and installation steering column covers (Opel Astra H)

Note: There is no need to remove the steering wheel.

1. Turn the steering wheel to the appropriate angle, remove the plugs and unscrew the 2 bolts securing the upper steering column cover (arrows A) (see accompanying illustration), move the casing upwards.

2. On Astra models, use a plastic wedge to remove the ignition switch cover (see illustration 33.1).

3. Remove the 3 mounting bolts (arrows B) (see illustration 33.1) and remove the lower steering column cover. Then disconnect the upper cover from the instrument panel (see Chapter 12, Section 24).

4. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
