Removal
Raise the car.
In vehicles with a catalytic converter: remove the screens of the front muffler pipe and catalytic converter (see chapter "Exhaust system").
Remove the brake pads.
On front wheel drive vehicles: loosen the cable equalizer.
In all-wheel drive vehicles: unscrew the self-locking nut from the rod, having first measured and recorded the length of the rod thread to the nut. Remove the equalizer.
Remove the bracket from the cable guide.
Pull the parking brake cable out of the floor bracket and rear axle.
Disengage the return spring and disconnect the cable from the parking brake lever.
Installation
Insert the parking brake cable into the floor and rear axle bracket.

Insert the bracket into the cable guide.
Secure the parking brake cable and self-locking nut to the brake shield.
Secure the cable and return spring to the parking brake lever.
Install the brake pads.
Install the brake drum.
In all-wheel drive vehicles: move the cable equalizer along the rod and tighten the hexagonal self-locking nut to the previously noted size.
Caution: Use a new self-locking nut.

In front-wheel drive vehicles: install a cable equalizer.
MoS₂ -based paste to the cable in the area of the plastic guides near the floor.
Adjust the parking brake.

For vehicles with a catalytic converter: install screens for the front muffler pipe and catalytic converter.
Lower the car.
