Removing
Raise the car.
On vehicles with catalytic converter: remove front muffler and catalytic converter shields (see chapter "Exhaust system").
Remove brake pads.
For front-wheel drive vehicles: Loosen the cable equalizer.
In four-wheel drive vehicles: unscrew the self-locking nut from the rod, having previously measured and recorded the length of the thread of the rod to the nut. Remove equalizer.
Remove the bracket from the cable guide.
Pull the parking brake cable out of the floor bracket and rear axle.
Unhook the return spring and disconnect the cable from the parking brake lever.
Installation
Insert the parking brake cable into the floor and rear axle bracket.
Insert the clip into the cable guide.
Attach the parking brake cable and self-locking nut to the brake shield.
Attach the cable and return spring to the parking brake lever.
Install brake pads.
Install the brake drum.
On 4WD vehicles: move the cable equalizer along the linkage and screw on the hex self-locking nut to the previously noted dimension.
Attention! Use a new self-locking nut.
For front-wheel drive vehicles: Install a cable equalizer.
Apply a layer of MoS-based paste to the cable in the area of the plastic guides near the floor2.
Adjust parking brake.
On vehicles with catalytic converter: Install front muffler and catalytic converter screens.
Lower the car.
