1. The general diagram of the cable routing for the parking brake drive of the rear drum-type brake mechanisms is shown in the accompanying illustration.

2. On models with rear disc brakes, the drive designs are almost completely identical, the difference is in the way the cable ends are attached to the calipers (see Section 8).

Front section



3. Remove the parking brake lever (see Section 15).

4. Raise the vehicle and place it on stands.

5. On models with a front heat shield, disconnect the lambda probe wiring connector, release the central section of the exhaust system from the damping holders (see accompanying illustration) and place the exhaust pipe on the rear suspension beam. Then remove the heat shield from the bottom of the car, place it on the exhaust pipe.

6. Disconnect the front section of the parking brake cable from the connector and release it from the holder on the underbody of the vehicle (see accompanying illustration).

7. Remove the cuff from the parking brake lever bearing plate and pull the cable out of the hole in the bottom of the vehicle.

8. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. After completing the work, adjust the parking brake (see Section 17).

Rear sections



Models with disc brakes



Center and rear left sections



9. Remove the rear wheels, on Corsa-Eco models remove the crankcase guard (see Chapter 2) and a spoiler from the bottom of the car.



10. On models with the appropriate equipment, separate the front heat shield from the underbody of the vehicle (see illustration 16.5).

11. Release the parking brake lever, disconnect the rear section of the cable from the connector and release it from the holder on the rear suspension beam (see accompanying illustration).

12. Disconnect the center section of the drive cable from the equalizer (see accompanying illustration) and release the rear section of the cable from the holders on the fuel tank.

13. Release the central section of the cable from the holder on the underbody of the vehicle and from the front connecting element (see accompanying illustration) and take it off.

14. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. After installation is complete, adjust the parking brake (see Section 17).

Rear right section



15. Remove the rear wheels and release the parking brake lever.

16. Disconnect the rear right section of the cable from the connector (2) and remove it from the holder (1) on the rear suspension beam (see illustration 16.1).

17. Disconnect the rear right section of the parking brake from the equalizer (see illustration 16.12) and take it off.

18. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. After installation is complete, adjust the parking brake (see Section 17).

Models with drum brakes



19. Remove the rear wheels and release the parking brake lever.

20. Remove the brake shoes (see Section 10).

21. Remove the locking bracket and pull the rear section of the cable out of the brake shield (see accompanying illustration) and disconnect the rear cable from the connecting element.

22. Separate the cable from the second brake mechanism in the same way.

23. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. After installation is complete, adjust the parking brake (see Section 17).

24. Remove the rear wheels.

25. Disconnect the front section of the cable from the equalizer on the underbody of the vehicle (see accompanying illustration) and release the rear sections of the cable from the holders.

26. Release the rear sections of the cable from the holders on the fuel tank.



27. Disconnect the rear sections of the cable on the right and left from the connecting elements and release them from the holders on the rear suspension beam (see accompanying illustration). Remove the rear sections.

28. Installation is carried out in the reverse order - the rear sections must be laid over the elements of the exhaust system. After installation, adjust the parking brake (see Section 17).
