Mechanical parking brake
Removing
Note. To remove the parking brake lever, the automatic parking brake lever adjuster must be in the installation position.
1. Remove the front floor console.
Note. Move the latch and block the stem with the spring.
2. Set the automatic adjuster of the parking brake lever to the installation position:
- Fully release the parking brake lever.
- Press the stem (1) knob in the direction of the arrow.
- Press the latch.
3. Hold the stem while pressing the lock (2), lock it in one position.
4. Disconnect the parking brake cables (1) from the brake caliper actuating levers on both sides of the vehicle.
Note. Do not reuse the drive shaft nut. Replace the old nut with a new one.
5. Disconnect the parking brake cables from the balancer (2).
6. Disconnect the drive cables on both sides of the car from the holders (3) on the bottom of the body.
Installation
1. Connect the parking brake cables to the balancer (2).
2. Lay the parking brake cables on both sides of the car in holders (3) on the bottom of the body.
3. Connect the parking brake cables (1) to the drive levers on the brake calipers.
4. Pull the parking brake lever inside the car.
Note. Once the in-vehicle parking brake lever is raised, the auto adjuster latch will disengage and the drive cables will automatically adjust.
5. Install the front floor console.
