Removal and installation the brake light switch sensor (Opel Corsa C)

            0

1. The switch sensor is attached to the brake pedal bracket and when the pedal is pressed, it activates the brake lights, warning other road users of the start of braking. The brake lights should be activated with a pedal stroke of 15±5 mm. In addition, the switch sensor sends a corresponding signal to the ABS/EDS control module to activate the braking control process. For this reason, the precise operation and adjustment of the sensor are extremely important.

2. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal (see Chapter 5).

3. To gain access to the brake pedal on Corsa C models, remove the instrument panel trim cover under the steering column with storage compartment, on Meriva models, remove the trim cover under the steering column (see Chapter 11).

4. Disconnect the brake light switch sensor wiring connector.

5. Pull out the contact rod first (see accompanying illustration), and then pull the sensor lock sleeve until it stops in the direction indicated by the arrow.
