Adjusting the parking brake drive (Opel Corsa C)

            0

Note: On models with drum brakes, it is necessary to ensure that all shoes are evenly seated on the brake drums.

1. Engage the parking brake lever, separate the lever boot from the center console and screw it upward.

2. Release the parking brake lever and loosen the drive cable by loosening the adjusting nut (see illustration 15.5).

3. Press the brake pedal 3-4 times to select the parking brake play.

4. Support the front wheels with wheel chocks, jack up the car and place the rear of the car on stands.

5. Raise the lever 3 clicks, then tighten the adjusting nut until the rear wheels start to seize - they should still be able to be turned manually. Both rear wheels should turn with the same resistance, otherwise check the freedom of movement of the drive cables in their casings.

6. Release the lever - both wheels should start to rotate freely. Otherwise, repeat the adjustment.

7. Lower the vehicle onto its wheels and apply the parking brake 7 clicks. The parking brake is adjusted correctly when the rear wheels are locked and hold the vehicle securely in place.

8. Secure the parking brake lever boot to the center console.

9. Lightly apply the parking brake lever and drive approximately 300 m at low speed to allow the brake linings to bed in.
