Note: The hub block retaining nuts must be replaced upon installation.
Removing
1. Since 1993, all Vectra models are equipped with a one-piece hub and rear wheel bearing assembly (see illustration).
2. On these models, the stub axle, hub and wheel bearings are one assembly. No bearing adjustment is required.
3. To remove the rear wheel hub, remove the cap where applicable, then loosen the wheel bolts and block the front wheels. Jack up and support the rear of the vehicle on axle stands. Remove the wheel.
4. Remove the rear disc brake caliper as described in Section 9. Move the caliper to the side and tie it to the body using a piece of wire or rope so that you can not disconnect the brake pipe.
5. Disconnect the return spring from the handbrake shoe lever and support shield.
6. Turn off the fastening screw and remove a brake disk.
7. Disconnect the sensor harness connector, ABS, located at the rear of the hub assembly.
8. Turn off four fixing nuts and take assembly of a nave together with a basic board. Disconnect the handbrake cable from the handbrake shoe lever as soon as it becomes accessible.
Installation
9. Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following.
10. Tighten the new hub assembly mounting nuts in stages to the tightening torque given in Specifications. Please note that a universal joint socket is required to use the angled torque gauge.
11. Make sure the handbrake cable and return spring are properly connected.
12. After installing the brake disc, install the caliper as described in Section 9.
13. Before installing the wheel and lowering the vehicle to the ground, check the handbrake cable adjustment as described in Section 9.
