Note: The hub block mounting nuts must be replaced during installation.
Removal
1. Since 1993, all Vectra models have been equipped with a non-separable assembly of the rear wheel hub and bearings (see illustration).

2. On these models, the stub axle, hub and wheel bearings are one assembly. No bearing adjustment is required.
3. To remove the rear wheel hub, remove the cap where applicable, then loosen the wheel bolts and block the front wheels. Jack up and support the rear of the vehicle on axle stands. Remove the wheel.
4. Remove the rear disc brake caliper as described in Section 9. Move the caliper to the side and tie it to the body using a piece of wire or rope so that you can not disconnect the brake line.
5. Disconnect the return spring from the handbrake shoe lever and the support shield.
6. Loosen the mounting screw and remove the brake disc.
7. Disconnect the ABS sensor wiring connector located at the rear of the hub assembly.
8. Remove the four mounting nuts and remove the hub assembly with the backing plate. Disconnect the handbrake cable from the handbrake shoe lever once it is accessible.
Installation
9. Perform installation in reverse order, paying attention to the following.
10. Tighten the new hub assembly retaining nuts in stages to the tightening torque given in Specifications. Please note that to use the angle tightening template, you will need a universal joint socket.
11. Make sure the handbrake cable and return spring are connected correctly.
12. After installing the brake disc, install the caliper as described in Section 9.
13. Before installing the wheel and lowering the vehicle to the ground, check the adjustment of the handbrake cable as described in Section 9.
