Rear shock absorber rubber pads — replacement (Opel Vectra A)

1. The rubber parts of the upper shock absorber mount can be replaced without removing the shock absorber as follows. Please note that on models with a single overhead camshaft (SOHC), due to the design of the rear suspension, both shock absorbers cannot be removed at the same time.

2. Proceed as described in points 2-4 Chapters 14.

3. Lightly jack up the rear of the car, compress the shock absorber by hand enough to remove its upper mount from the body.

4. Remove the rubber part of the mount from the top of the shock absorber.

5. Install new rubber cushions in the reverse order of removal.

6. On models with manual rear suspension stiffness control, increase the pressure in the system to 0.8 bar.
