Master brake cylinder (Opel Frontera B)

Removal

Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.

Use a syringe to suck out the brake fluid from the brake system reservoir.

Disconnect the connector (1) from the brake fluid level sensor.

Disconnect the brake pipes (2) from the master cylinder (3) and close them with plastic plugs to prevent dirt from getting into them.

Warning! Brake fluid dissolves paint, plastic and wire insulation, so if the fluid accidentally comes into contact with the vehicle's paintwork or components, rinse them with plenty of water.

Unscrew 2 nuts (4) and remove the brake master cylinder with the spacer and two gaskets and the bypass valve bracket from the brake booster.

Installation

Install the brake master cylinder (3) with the spacer and two gaskets and the bypass valve bracket and secure with 2 nuts, tightening them to a torque of 13 Nm.

Connect the 2 brake pipes and tighten the pipe mounting nuts to a torque of 15 N·m.

Fill the brake fluid into the hydraulic drive of the brake system and remove air from it (see the relevant chapter).

Warning: Fill the brake system with new DOT 4 brake fluid only.
