Electrohydraulic control unit for anti-lock braking system (ABS 325) (Opel Frontera B)

Removal



Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.

Loosen the union nuts and disconnect the brake pipes from the hydraulic modulator.

Loosen the union nuts and disconnect the brake pipes from the hydraulic modulator.


Warning! To prevent dirt from entering the brake system, seal the disconnected brake pipes and openings in the hydraulic modulator with suitable plugs.


Press the red lock and disconnect the connector from the ABS electro-hydraulic control unit.

Using a 6mm socket wrench, loosen the 2 screws and remove the hydraulic modulator from the bracket.

Remove 4 bolts (3) and remove the ABS control unit (1) from the hydraulic modulator (2).

Remove 4 bolts (3) and remove the ABS control unit (1) from the hydraulic modulator (2).


Installation



Install the control unit onto the hydraulic modulator and secure with 4 bolts, tightening them to a torque of 22 Nm.



Install the hydraulic modulator on the bracket and secure with 2 screws.

Connect the connector to the ABS electro-hydraulic control unit and secure it with the red clip.

Connect the brake pipes to the hydraulic modulator and tighten the pipe mounting nuts to a torque of 16 N·m.

Connect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.
