The ABS system includes a control unit, a block of solenoid valves, an electric brake fluid pump, and speed sensors. The control unit ensures that the valves operate in response to signals from the wheel sensors.
If the wheel speed falls below a certain limit, then the booster pump automatically turns on, which returns fluid to the brake master cylinder, reducing the pressure in the wheel cylinder. When the wheel speed increases, the pump turns off and the valve opens, allowing fluid to the wheel cylinder. When the ABS system is operating, pulsations may be felt on the brake pedal. On vehicles equipped with a TC braking system for the drive wheels, an additional valve block is provided that actuates the brakes at speeds up to 60 km / h. When slipping the drive wheel (in case of loss of traction) the front brakes are automatically applied.
Diagnostics and repair of systems are carried out exclusively in the OPEL car service. It is independently allowed to change some components and assemblies of systems.
