The main components of the ABS are:
- wheel speed sensors mounted opposite the gear wheels mounted on the wheel hubs;
- hydraulic distribution block, including solenoid valves for regulating the pressure of the brake fluid in the wheel cylinders, a high pressure pump and a switch for the ABS malfunction indicator lamp, which lights up in the instrument cluster when the fluid pressure in the system drops sharply;
- an electronic control unit that, based on information from the wheel speed sensors, generates commands to control the valve body valves.
