Removal and installation of the ATE brake mechanism (Opel Kadett E)

Removal

Remove the front wheel. Disconnect the brake hose from the slave cylinder and plug the hose hole to prevent brake fluid leakage.

Depending on the modification, disconnect the wires from the brake pad wear sensor.

Remove the bolts securing the brake shoe guide to the steering knuckle and remove the caliper assembly with the guide and brake shoes.

Installation

Install the caliper assembly and tighten the bolts securing the brake shoe guide to the steering knuckle.



Connect the brake hose, installing new sealing rings.

Depending on the modification, connect the wires to the brake pad wear sensor.

Install the front wheel, bleed the brake hydraulic system and make sure there is no brake fluid leakage.
