2. Put polyethylene on the hole
3. Close the tank again. This prevents fluid from escaping when the brake system is opened.
4. Turn out a bolt from a brake drum and remove a drum.
5. Disconnect the brake hose and parking brake cable from the back of the brake shield.
6. Turn away bolts and remove a brake board and a lock plate.
7. Take out a semiaxle together with a brake board from the bridge.
9. The axle shaft is installed in the reverse order of removal.
10. On the back of the brake shield sits an oil seal that needs to be lubricated.
11. Tighten the fastening bolts evenly with a torque of 95 Nm.
12. Install other removed parts as directed.
13. Remove air from the brake system.
Disc brakes
1. Remove the caliper from the guide, washer, brake pads.
2. Disconnect the parking brake cable as described in Chapter Cardan shafts, final drive.
3. The following work is carried out in accordance with the illustration.
4. Remove the bolt (1) and remove the ABS yaw rate sensor.
5. After that, unscrew the four nuts (2) and remove the axle shaft together with the bearing housing and the brake shield from the axle sleeve.
6. Be careful not to damage the seal inside the axle sleeve. The gland is shown in illus. 6.2.
7. Thoroughly clean mating surfaces of axle sleeve and bearing housing.
The axle shaft is installed as follows:
1. Insert the axle shaft with bearing housing and brake shield into the axle sleeve.
2. The mating surface of the sleeve or bearing housing is lubricated with sealant.
3. Screw four nuts (2), shown in the illustration with washers.
4. Tighten evenly to 75 Nm.
5. Other work is performed in the reverse order of removal.
