Removal and installation rear brake pads (Opel Frontera A)

Here the calipers have the same design as on the front wheels. Except for the description below, the rest of the work is carried out in the same way as for the front wheel brake mechanism.

Instructions for removing and installing the front brake pads are given in Section 1, apply to the rear disc brake pads. The difference lies in the tightening torque of the mounting bolts, which in this case is 44 Nm.



1. When assembling, press the piston into the cylinder bore as shown. At the same time, it is necessary to monitor the liquid level in the tank.

2. Install the clamps and washers on the shoe guide and install the brake shoes on the right and left.



3. The wear indicator on the bottom of the brake pads should point inward. Install the caliper.



4. Finally, fill the brake fluid into the master cylinder reservoir and press the brake pedal several times to ensure that the brake pads are in the correct position.

The brake pads require bedding in. Therefore, you should not press the brake pedal sharply during the initial period of operation.
