Carburetor models
1. The fuel pump is located on the camshaft housing and is driven by a thrust from an eccentric cam on the camshaft (see photo).

2. The installation location of the pump is slightly different for engines 1.3 and 1.6.
3. The fuel pump is a disposable semi-sealed pump and cannot be repaired.
4. At a given frequency (see section "Routine Maintenance") The pump strainer should be cleaned. To do this, remove the screw securing the pump cover.
5. Remove the cover, turn it over and remove the rubber o-ring and strainer (see photo).

6. Wipe the lid and rinse the strainer in clean gasoline. The filter must be replaced at specified intervals.
7. Install the filter and o-ring back into the cover. Place the cover on the pump and secure it with the screw. Be careful not to overtighten the screw.
8. If fuel does not flow to the carburetor, and it is known for sure that the fuel tank is not empty, you should check the operation of the pump.
9. Disconnect the low voltage wire connecting the distributor to the ignition coil (so that there is no spark on the candles).
10. Turn the ignition key so that the starter makes several turns and watch how fuel flows from the open end of the fuel hose. The fuel must emit regular strong emissions. If not, the fuel pump is faulty and needs to be replaced.
11. To remove the pump, disconnect and plug the fuel hoses. Unscrew and remove the bolts securing the pump and remove it from the camshaft housing (see photo).

12. Install the pump in the reverse order. Replace the gasket on the pump flange.
