2. Label the fuel inlet and outlet hoses, then loosen their clamps and disconnect them from the pump. Plug both hoses to prevent fuel leakage.
3. Unscrew the mounting nuts, remove the pump from the struts on the camshaft housing. Remove the gasket (photo).
4. To check the pump operation, install the fuel inlet hose to the pump inlet pipe and cover the outlet with a rag. Press the plunger manually, there should be a strong ejection of fuel from the outlet tip.
5. Clean the contact surfaces of the camshaft housing and pump.
6. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
