1. Depending on the model, the fuel pump can be installed inside the fuel tank, or separately in front of the fuel tank (photo).
2. To check its operation, disconnect the fuel supply hose on the fuel distribution line in the engine compartment, direct it into a calibrated container with a capacity of about 5 liters.
3. Remove the relay cover in the right rear corner of the engine compartment. Pull out the fuel pump relay and pull the base off the suspension.
4. Connect terminals 30 and 87B together with a jumper for one minute (photo).
5. About 1.6-2.4 liters of fuel should collect in the container. If not, the fuel filter may be clogged or defective.
6. To remove the fuel pump, block the front wheels, jack up the rear of the vehicle and secure it on axle stands.
7. On a separately installed fuel pump, disconnect the electrical wiring, then install clips to both hoses and disconnect them. Unscrew the clamping bolt, remove the fuel pump.
8. On the pump installed in the tank, remove the filler cap and pump out the fuel. Disconnect the connector, then clamp the supply and return hoses and disconnect them. Unscrew the bolts, remove the fuel pump. Remove the pad.
9. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
