General description of the fuel system (Opel Omega A)

The fuel system consists of a rear-mounted fuel tank, a mechanical or electric fuel pump and a downdraft carburetor or Bosch fuel injection system. The fuel supply and return system is designed to prevent excessive heating of the fuel, and some models have a compensation reservoir (photo) mounted on the inlet hose to even out the pulsations of the fuel flow from the fuel pump.



The exhaust system on all models consists of an exhaust pipe and a twin distribution pipe.

The use of unleaded petrol is permitted on all models. Details of ignition timing adjustment are given in Section 4.
