The fuel tank is located behind the rear seat. The current supply of fuel is indicated by a special indicator. The tank is ventilated with a ventilation system. If the tank was emptied, it is not necessary to remove air from the system, because. it is done automatically at startup.
Caution: If the fuel system is not automatically bled, or when a hand pump is not available, then the following must be done:
- Fill the fuel filter with diesel fuel.
- Tow a vehicle.
With the help of these measures, air is quickly removed.
Attention: In order to check whether fuel is supplied to the injectors in case of difficulty starting, unscrew the union nuts on two nozzles and start the engine without preheating until the fuel comes out on the union nuts. Screw on the union nuts and start the engine in the normal way.
Movement in winter
Additives to diesel fuel should not be used, they are needed only in winter. With a decrease in external temperature, the fluidity of diesel fuel decreases due to the release of paraffin. Diesel fuel becomes viscous like honey. Therefore, in winter, companies add special additives to diesel fuel, which restore the fluidity of the fuel and guarantee movement at temperatures down to about -15°C. However, these additives do not always guarantee trouble-free operation, which is why it is necessary that gasoline be added to diesel fuel, also if there is still "summer diesel" fuel.
The addition must be made, if possible, before the start of paraffin precipitation, because. otherwise, it will be necessary to free the filter and pipelines from thickened diesel fuel.
Because the admixture of ordinary gasoline reduces engine power, it is necessary to add the right amount of admixture very accurately (see table).
Fuel | Air temperature°C
0 to -9 | -10 to -14 | -15 to -25
summer diesel | 80% | 70% | 50% |
normal gasoline | 20% | 30% | 50% |
winter diesel | 100% | 100% | 70% |
normal gasoline | - | - | 30% |
Caution: Use only regular gasoline for topping up, not super gasoline.
Due to the flammability of gasoline. it is necessary to mix only in the fuel tank. At the same time, if possible, first pour in normal gasoline, and then diesel fuel.
Attention: Due to the addition of conventional gasoline, engine power is reduced.
If the engine stalls in extreme cold due to freezing of the fuel, it is sometimes very difficult to start the engine again.
This offers the following possibilities:
- Remove the fuel filter and heat it in water until the diesel fuel is fluid again.
- Remove the fuel filter and replace it with a new one.
- Tow the vehicle to the garage and warm it up.
- Spray the fuel injection device with hot water.
Caution: Never heat the fuel injection system or the fuel tank with a blowtorch or the like. Explosion hazard.
