Fuel system of diesel engine (Opel Omega A)

Never use up the fuel in the tank completely, otherwise even after refueling the engine will not start until the air is bled from the fuel system.

To do this you need:

• fill the tank with fuel, cover the battery with something,
• turn on the ignition,
• using a screwdriver, loosen the fuel filter air drainage screw one turn,
• make several slow, even pumps with the manual fuel pump button until clean, air-bubble-free fuel flows from the half-open drain hole,
• tighten the screw.

Using a 12 mm wrench, loosen the drain screw on the high-pressure fuel pump one turn and also make a few strokes by hand until fuel flows out of the hole without air bubbles.

Tighten the screw again firmly.
