1. When minor air locks form, air is removed from the fuel supply system automatically when the ignition is turned on, which explains the absence of a manual fuel pump.
2. The need to remove air arises after performing maintenance work on the fuel filter or other elements of the fuel system, as well as after the fuel tank has been completely depleted during a vehicle trip (which is highly undesirable).
3. The procedure for removing air from the fuel pump and fuel system is described in detail in Chapter 1, Section 8. A prerequisite for successful removal of air from the fuel system is the presence of at least 5 liters of fuel in the fuel tank. If the fuel filter was removed, it must be filled with fuel before installation.
